Sydney Gateway

Sydney Gateway aims to enhance travel convenience, efficiency, and safety by seamlessly linking to the broader motorway network. It offers an uninterrupted route to Sydney Airport’s Domestic terminals from the M8 and New M4 tunnels through the St Peters Interchange, eliminating traffic lights.

This project, initiated by the NSW Government in 2018, is hailed as a crucial addition to Sydney’s motorway infrastructure, addressing a long-standing connectivity gap.

With an investment of $2.6 billion, the initiative will construct over five kilometers of new road, featuring 19 bridge structures and extending more than three kilometers of pedestrian and cycling pathways. This toll-free connection from the St Peters Interchange aims to shorten travel times to Sydney Airport, the M5, and Eastern Distributor.

Sydney Gateway’s significance lies in its role in enhancing access to the Airport Precinct, establishing a robust network for efficient and dependable journeys.

Memba Civil were contracted to complete the following works:

ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) Civil Works;
Installation of 2.5km of ITS pit & pipe network.
Installation of associated pits.
Installation of OHD, RSC & CCTV Footings inclusive of piling.

Street Lighting;
Supply and installation of 225No. Light Pole footings.
Supply and installation of 225No. light poles & luminaires.
Insallation of approximately 8km of street lighting/ power pit & pipe.
Supply & installation of 40km of street lighting & power cables.
Supply and installation of distribution boards and commission.
Supply and installation underpass lighting.
Installation of lighting corbels on bridge parapets.
