Seymour Whyte, in collaboration with BMD, will undertake the landside civil and construction works contract for the forthcoming Western Sydney International Airport, set to open in 2026. The project encompasses:

  • Construction of roads, bridges, footpaths, and cycle paths, along with their connections to external roads and parking facilities.
  • Integration with external utilities.
  • Development of landside infrastructure and amenities.

The landside infrastructure and facilities include:

  • Supplementary facilities and support for aviation operations.
  • Ground transportation amenities.
  • Networks for water, recycled water, wastewater, and gas, along with low-voltage power.
  • Establishment of foundational infrastructure for high-voltage power and an interconnected communication network, inclusive of fiber optic cabling.
  • Implementation of various systems like audio-visual displays, building management, electronic security, network and telecommunications, and parking management (limited to preparatory work).
  • Landscaping and wayfinding provisions.
  • Earthmoving activities.

Memba Civil were contracted to complete the following scope of works:


Installation of Low Voltage and Comms Pit and Conduits;

Trench and install 11km of various communication trench configurations.
Trench and install 6km street light conduits
Trench and install 2.8km of various LV trench configurations.
Installation of 190 communication pits.
Installation of 160 Street Light Pits and Rag Bolts for Light Pile footings
Installation of 10 LV pits.

Installation of High Voltage Pit and Conduits;
Trench and install 2km of various configurations.

Plant Hire;
Wheeled excavator/ Rubber Duck hire.
Vaccum Truck Hire.
